New Six Week Challenge
Last Monday I just finished my first six week challenge on Nerdfitness.com and I just started my next six week challenge this Monday. The reason they do it for six weeks is that basically it takes about 42 days (six weeks) to build a habit. I also lost 3 more pounds so I am up to 27lbs gone. Joy had my favorite pair of jeans in a size smaller and she gave them to me and they fit perfectly (if not a little loosely) so I am encouraged that I can say I definitely fit into a size 18 jean. I am almost 100% sure that I am the smallest I have been since maybe my freshman or sophomore year of high school. I remember that 230lbs seemed to always be my threshold when I would try and lose weight but I am down to 227lbs. I will probably post some pictures soon but not right now because my camera is in the living room and I am too lazy to get up and get it.

Becoming Debt Free
Okay so this post isn't really about physical health but I definitely think that being debt free is good for emotional health. It took me about four months but in a couple of weeks I will have my car all paid for. Then I get to start working on saving for student loans. I am going to cut down on my hours at work because it has been competing with school and I know that school needs to take precedent, so I won't be able to pay off the student loans as quickly as I would like but I still think I will be able to do it in under a year (hopefully that means before I start having to pay interest).
I guess I do have a physical health topic type thingy to talk about. I went and tried on clothes at Maurices today and I was able to fit into a size 18 jean pretty easily (read: I could still breath after they were zipped). I didn't but any though because hopefully soon I will be a size 16 and I don't want to waste money. I did buy a shirt and a tank top to go under it because it is the type of shirt that can look good loose and it was really cute. The tank top I got in a size 0 (the plus size 0) and the shirt I got in a size 1 but I probably could have fit into a 0 if I tried. I wanted to go to Old Navy too and try on clothes but I was with someone else and we ran out of time. I am feeling pretty good because before I started trying to loose weight I think I was probably getting close to wearing a size 3 at Maurices and I know that some size 2 shirts were tight. I took some pictures of myself in the dressing room with my phone so I might post those (my phone seems to have problems with sending/receiving pictures).

What 230 Looks Like (Formerly Known as 24lb Lost)
As you can probably tell from the title I got down to 230lbs today. I don't think I have weighed that since my freshman year of high school as evidenced by the pictures. I have this outfit that I remember buying for Grandpa Martin's funeral (fall of my freshman year) and I haven't been able to fit it in for so long but I tried on the shirt today and it fit. The pants were really snug but I got them zipped.
I was also able to get my size 16 jeans zipped but they are old navy. I didn't take a picture because as it is well known "just because it zips, doesn't mean it fits" and it was not a pretty sight.

Slow and Steady Wins The Race
A lot of time that sentiment is not really true but in weight-loss I think it is definitely true. Total right now I have lost 21 lb so I lost 9 lbs in the month of August. Less than I would have like but more than nothing. I don't know if I will get to my goal of 200 lbs by Christmas but I know that by then I will weigh less than I do now. It is really hard when you feel like you are working so hard but the outcome doesn't quite match the effort. I wasn't able to do my cardio twice this week so I made sure to still get in at least ten minutes by lifting weights and doing stuff on my exercise ball. I got a pair of size 18 dress pants from Walmart for pretty cheap and they fit, snugly but they still fit, so that is nice. Joy brought me some dress pants to try too but none of them fit over by butt yet. I am thinking about going by Maurices to try on some jeans because according the their size charts my butt shouldn't even be able to fit into a size 20 which is funny because my size 20 Maurices pants are a little big on me right now. According to their size chart I will need to lose 3 inches off my waist and 5 off my butt before I fit into a size 18. Maybe that is more true for dress pants and stuff that don't really stretch but I am pretty sure a size 18 jean would probably zip. I still feel like I am going strong with this and while sometimes I really get tired of trying to fit working out into my schedule I know in the long run it will be worth it. I don't really have anything else to say right now but I wanted to get a post out here since I haven't in a while.
